When a health incident occurs, who is going to be by your side? For most people, it will be family that sticks it out in the long run.
For some people, the employer is supportive. Mine wasn’t at all. They considered me a “risk”.
When I lost my job due to my stroke, I experienced depression because I didn’t feel like I had any purpose. A person’s job is a source of identity, self-worth, and financial stability.
Luckily, I got into BIND which has helped fill some of that void.
Most people hate going to work and look forward to the weekend. I did the same pre-stroke. I was like everyone else in the rat-race.
My grandma believed that I would return to work so strongly. My grandma passed away on April 1, 2017 after a year of experiencing 3 strokes of her own.
The below letter was written by her around 3 years ago. I found this letter a few months ago.
So Megan, when you go back to work, remember Jesus is going to work with you. It will be a big step but one we have all prayed for. Remember, I can do all things through Jesus Christ which strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). This chapter is a wonderful one. God is with you!
